JAKARTA: The Directorate General of Air Transportation at the Transportation Ministry released on Tuesday the results of its audit of the nation's airports, with Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport topping the list as the country's best.
After Ngurah Rai, the runners-up were Soekarno-Hatta in Cengkareng, Banten; Juanda in Surabaya; Polonia in Medan, North Sumatra and Hasanuddin in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The directorate general ranked the airports based on several criteria such as compliance to regulations, security, safety and comfort levels for passengers.
Ngurah Rai received a compliant score of 84, while Soekarno-Hatta received an 82, Juanda a 73, Polonia a 70 and Hasanuddin a 64. -- JP
