Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Armed Forces Headquarters and US Pacific Command ended a five-day international workshop on disaster response here on Friday.
Called MPAT TEMPEST EXPRESS-12 Staff Planning Workshop, the activity focused on a Government of Indonesia-led response to a simulation natural disaster in western Java affecting Jakarta, the US Embassy said in a press release issued on Friday.
The primary goals of the event were among others to better understand planning of major civilian-led humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, improve civil-military cooperation among the various organizations involved in disaster response, and build on the Indonesian government and military disaster response experience and procedures, it said.
