JAKARTA (JP): Thousands of workers, who rely on commuter trains, were disappointed Tuesday because state-owned railway operator PT KAI only operate one electricity train from Serpong in Tangerang to Palmerah in Central Jakarta.
Thousands workers have to find other transportations to reach their workplaces in Jakarta or just returned home because three executive trains, which usually serve them, were just parked inSerpong station.
PT KAI stopped the operation of Serpong-Tanah Abang route on last Friday because Tanah Abang station in Central Jakarta was inundated by water overflowing from West Flood Canal.
The operation began on Saturday but only with one train serving Serpong-Palmerah.
Usually, Serpong Tanah-Abang route was served by two economic class electricity trains, and three executive-class trains. A number of diesel trains from Rangkas Bitung and Merak in Banten province also passed through the track
