JAKARTA (Jakarta Post): Qatar Airways, which serves direct flights from Doha to Jakarta and Bali, plans to increase the seat capacity of its Doha-Denpasar route in response to increasing demand.
Area manager for Indonesia, Joe Rajadurai, said Wednesday the airline would replace its Airbus A300 with the newer Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 so the seating capacity could be increased by 53 and the cargo capacity by seven tons.
"Our flights were full during the first three months. Therefore we need bigger aircraft," said Rajadurai, adding most of the airline's customers were passengers from Europe.
However, he did not specify when the airline would operate the new aircraft.
Qatar Airways started serving its four-times-a-week service between Doha and Denpasar in March. It also flies to Jakarta seven times a week. (Trw)
