Authorities
have banned a Shanghai bakery from offering delivery services using
remote-controlled aircraft due to public safety concerns, reports the website
of the Hong Kong-based Ta Kung Pao.
The bakery,
Incake, came up with the interesting idea of delivering their products to
customers by using remote-controlled planes which weigh 22 pounds and are 3.6
feet wide. They can carry a box and are equipped with two cameras.
The company
said they have three of the aircraft and the service is a fast and
environmentally friendly way to transport cakes to their customers.
Local
aviation authorities expressed concerns however that the service could be
dangerous. They said Incake needs an approval to provide the services.
