JAKARTA (Jakarta Post) : Sinta, 28, was not sure what type of taxi she hailed Tuesday, but she could remember the details of her short trip in it clearly.
In a report filed to police, Sinta said she caught a blue taxi at approximately 5 p.m. from outside the Mid Plaza building on Jl. Jend. Sudirman, Central Jakarta, Antara reported Wednesday.
When the taxi was traveling through the Senayan area, two people got in and robbed her. They hit her and threatened her with a knife before the taxi dropped her off in East Jakarta.
The thieves stole two gold rings, a cellphone, a personal computer and Rp 10.4 million in cash.
The head of the armed crimes unit at the Jakarta Police headquarters, Adj. Sr. Comr. Fadil Imran, said the case was being investigated.
"Passengers should look for the registration number and the company's name when they take a taxi. Jot down the driver's identity if necessary. If the driver's identity card is nowhere to be seen, get out of the taxi immediately," he said.
