Mercedes-Benz
will recall 57,843 vehicles in mainland China due to risks associated with short
circuits, the country's quality watchdog said on Tuesday.
The recall
involves imported petrol-powered Smart Fortwo produced between Oct. 5, 2010 and
June 2, 2014, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision,
Inspection and Quarantine.
The
producer will fix the problem with the warm water shut-off valve, which may
trigger a short circuit after being used for a long time.
The recall
will start on Aug. 22.
