Jakarta.Twenty economy-class train carriages parked at Rangkasbitung Station in Lebak,Banten, were burned early on Monday morning.

Thecarriages were part of the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang commuter train that servesone the busiest routes into Jakarta.
Priatnajaya,head of the Lebak Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), said a candle that was beingused by a person sleeping on the train was believed to have sparked the blaze.
“Thefire spread rapidly to other carriages,” Priatnajaya said, adding that the fireoccurred at 1:45 a.m.
“Fourfire trucks were deployed to stop the fire. The firefighters worked for threehours before they finally managed to put it out,” he said.
Theincident disrupted the train schedule. Every day, one train would leave everyhour from Rangkasbitung to Tanah Abang station in Central Jakarta. The earliesttrain departs at 4 am.
However,due to the incident around 500 passengers who usually board the 5:20 a.m. trainhad to wait for a relief train from Manggarai Station in Jakarta.
The headof Rangkasbitung Station was not available for comment.
